Featured Wedding 2021 | Katelyn & Matt: Modern Peach/Purple/Blue Georgian Estate Wedding

We are so incredibly thrilled to share with you an absolutely outstanding wedding we had the pleasure of working on that (finally!) went forward this past September! Katelyn and Matt’s wedding day at Powerscourt House was an exercise in sophistication and timeless romantic details. Their custom designed color palette included to die for shades of peach tones, purples, soft blues, and white that absolutely stunned throughout the day. You’ll see the flowers took center stage in expressing the gorgeous color palette, a feat of floral artistry provided by the uber-talented Fleur Weddings.

Katelyn and Matt opted for a traditional church ceremony, followed by a “modern botanical Georgian” style reception. The vibe was relaxed, modern-traditional and very elegant. Style Note: take a look at these purple tones — purple will be huge for 2022! This outstanding gallery comes courtesy of Peter Carvill.  Enjoy!

Design & Styling:

The floral design and color palette were of paramount importance for Katelyn when planning this wedding. Katelyn wanted a soft and romantic vibe to the color palette that felt traditional, but also modern and fresh. During the wedding designing process, we conceptualized this gorgeous combination of soft peach tones and soft purple tones like lilac, but accentuated with pops of darker tones like coral and ultra-violet purple (which will be a huge color for 2022!). Playing with softer blue tones helped bring in the darker navy featured on the day, and taking inspiration from Ireland we of course had to have green — we stayed true to spring greens for this late summer wedding and it really worked beautifully both at the church and in the venue space. Fleur Weddings did an absolutely outstanding job perfectly and exactly matching our color palette!

The flowers were very carefully curated to create a lot of visual texture and movement for the bouquets, centerpieces and accent decor. We really wanted to draw the eye to the flowers instantly in every frame. The place settings offered a new take on the place card: individually hand-tied cards with silk ribbon on a glass was a lovely more modern touch to the table that still felt elegant and consistent with our theme and vibe. We’ve seen a lot of gold for many years, and the venue on its own carries a bit of gold-tone in the space — using crystal for candle holders and charger plates helped achieve that romantic and sophisticated vibe in a really clean way where again, the focus would be on the flowers.

Katelyn’s look is absolute perfection. Her dress perfectly accentuated her frame and the hair styling finished the touch to achieve an air of old Hollywood glamour. We love Matt’s and the groomsmen’s look played more with the darker blue and green tones of our color palette — a perfect contrast for the softer tones the ladies were sporting.

The invitations took on a touch more of a modern vibe with graphic sketch design of the venue and watercolor accent. When conceptualizing the cake, we basically took the invitations as heavy inspiration, recreating the same color and movement details then accenting with more of those gorgeous fresh flowers to tie the whole thing together.

Overall this is a perfect example of really curating your personal style down to what’s important for you and the power of having a defined and balanced color palette guide the rest of the elements for the day.

Congratulations Katelyn and Matt!!!
