It was clear from the beginning that Nicole and Matthew’s wedding would be brimming with vibrant energy and emotion, having so many close friends and family travel from England and America to celebrate their love. Their carefree spirit set the tone for what would be an epic weekend; a perfect reflection of the couple’s grace and style.
The number one priority for Nicole and Matthew was to ensure that everybody experienced the very best of Ireland – its hospitality, its history, its countryside and its culture. Together, we focused on finding a location and venue that took advantage of the stunning Irish countryside as well as one of its beautiful historic castles.
The festivities started the night before with welcome drinks and finger foods at Hermione’s, in the Kilkea Clubhouse. Guests were greeted with goodie bags as they sipped and savoured Aperol Spritzes along with Ireland’s famous sausage rolls and homemade tomato relish.
Their wedding day was set in the always stunning Kilkea Castle. The ceremony took place outdoors, in the fabulously manicured rose gardens with the castle in the background. It was beautifully captured by Christina Brosnan and Odicci; the day’s aesthetic struck the perfect balance of grandeur, timeless elegance and restraint. Guests found their seats to the sounds of a string quartet (played by Dublin String Quartet). The flowers, created by Fleur Weddings, were a masterpiece all their own; shades of pink and peach sorbets surrounded by greens with a hint of something blue. A deconstructed floral arch framed the couple as they said “I Do” with Nicole’s uncle acting as celebrant. The love in the air was palpable, with the support and affection from their loved ones so evident.
The couple kicked off their reception on the castle terrace before moving indoors to The Baronial Hall for dinner and dancing. The elegant florals took center stage, filling the room with color, as they lined the candlelit tables. The three-tiered,buttercream wedding cake (created by Caroline Goulding) sat on a vintage dresser, adorned with more fresh flowers. After a three-course dinner and thank you from the newlyweds, it was time to get the party started. With the help of DJ Tommy Elliot, Nicole and Matthew lit up the dance floor and the sky as they danced the night away and surprised their guests with a fireworks display after sunset.
Congratulations Nicole and Matthew – It was a joy to be part of your wedding journey and I have no doubt the beauty and love of your day will follow you long into the future!
